Windowsill Harvest Project

The goal of the Windowsill Harvest Project is to teach community members that it’s possible to grow healthy, sustainable foods, even in urban settings! The project also hopes to highlight the Black Hills Farmers Market as a new resource for consistent, fresh foods and recipes that meet budget needs.

Join us at market from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the following event days:

JUNE 18, 2016 – Plant Day

Learn where, how, and when to plant your seedlings, as well as how to use your EBT card to make purchases at the market. Receive your chocolate mint plant and a recipe that uses it as an ingredient!

JULY 16, 2016 – Education Day 1

Learn how to keep your young plants healthy, and what to expect at harvest time. Receive ideas about planning and budgeting for a healthy diet.

AUGUST 20, 2016 – Education Day 2

It’s harvest time! Learn how to preserve an abundance of produce to use in the future, as well as how to make the most of your SNAP benefits at the market.
