Double Up Food Bucks doubles the value of SNAP benefits spent at the farmers market, helping people bring home more fruits and vegetables while supporting local farmers. The program provides a one-to-one match in free Double Up Food Bucks for customers shopping with their SNAP benefits.
The program doubles up to $20 per day in SNAP benefits. Customers who spend $20 in benefits will receive $40 in tokens to spend at our farmers market. Visit the information booth at the farmers market to participate.
Double Up Food Bucks can only be redeemed for fruits and vegetables grown within 400 miles of where the market is located.
Double Up Food Bucks is not available from November through April each year.
Black Hills Farmers Market hosts Kids Month throughout the month of July. Children shopping at the farmers market are invited to stop by the Information Booth for a free $2 token to spend on a fresh fruit or vegetable at the farmers market. These are available at both the Wednesday and Saturday markets while supplies last, thanks to our sponsors..

Each Saturday, visit the Rapid City Public Library booth for books and games, and the Master Gardener booth for crafts.
Join us on Saturday, August 13th, 2022 from 9:30-11:30 for the fourth annual Great Zucchini Race. This event is free and open to all ages. Participants may either create their racers at home or at the make-it stations available for children beginning at 9:30. Two race times are at 10:15 and 11:00. Winners will receive a ribbon.
Black Hills Farmers Market will supply kits for children to use to build racers. Children only need to provide the zucchini (or other vegetable of your choice) and adult help. Kits include 2 dowels, 4 wooden wheels, mini marshmallows for attaching the wheels, and decorative items.
